Paint Color Trends of 2023

Updated: Apr 21

With the new year comes new beginnings and what better way to start fresh than by a color change! Keep reading to explore this year's color selections from the top paint brands and what emerging trends we're seeing as we enter 2023.

Behr developed a 2023 palette meant to promote wellness. Their selections mix a fair amount of warm neutrals with a variety of earth tones bringing a good balance and allow for all kinds of combinations.

Blank Canvas is Behr's Color of the Year 2023.

"We invite you to boost your overall wellbeing in the space that surrounds you."

Benjamin Moore describes their colors

of the year as "confident hues offering inspiration and creativity, while encouraging a push beyond the traditional to experience truly exceptional color." They're a bit too bright for my personal style, but I do love these bold and vibrant color choices for outdoor accents or a kid space!

Raspberry Blush is Benjamin Moore's Color of the Year 2023.

"Recreate your vision of comfort with the romantic and heritage inspired colors of this collection."

HGTV Home by Sherwin Williams killed it with their Vintage Homestead collection - a great balance of sophisticated and moody hues. Easily translated into a ton of design styles - traditional, contemporary, eclectic, rustic, etc.

Darkroom is HGTV Home's Color of Year 2023.

While Sherwin Williams chose a stunning 2023 Color of the Year, Redend Point, they went a step further with their release of the four color waves that make up the Colormix Forecast 2023 titled Terra - Biome, Lore, Nexus, and Origin. These distinct collections each have their own intention.

Valspar's palette is largely muted and calming with its featured color, Everglade Deck, being a moody but elegant blueish teal that is begging to be paired with brass hardware + finishes. The rest of the collection is lighter, spring-like colors. They describe these tones as "beautiful, livable, ready-to-go shades that restore and rejuvenate any space."

Everglade Deck is Valspar's Color of the Year 2023.
