Project Overview
This warm and welcoming living room was designed for a young family who wanted a space that felt both elevated and approachable — something beautiful that could still stand up to everyday life. Our goal for East Bay House was to create a living area that balances rich texture, timeless pieces, and functional materials while maintaining a light, serene aesthetic... from a builder-grade, new build to a cozy, lived-in home!
Design Style
The style of this room is best described as Modern Organic Traditional. We leaned into earthy tones and natural textures—like the raw wood coffee table and stone fireplace surround—while mixing in clean-lined upholstery and layered textiles to create a space that feels grounded, curated, and calm.
The color palette is intentionally soft: sandy beige, warm wood, subtle greens, and grounding charcoal accents. These tones not only reflect the surrounding Florida landscape but also offer a sense of calm and simplicity within a busy family life.

Key Features & Thoughtful Choices
Family-Friendly Materials
-
Every fabric in the room—minus the buttery leather West Elm sofa—is machine washable and chosen with durability in mind.
-
Deep-seated sectional from Lovesac
-
Darker, neutral chairs from Anabei for contrast
-
Ruggable rug for easy care
-
Wooden Pottery Barn coffee table and cabinet
-
Sesame leather sofa from West Elm
-
Washable pillow covers from Woven Nook
-
Window Treatments & Styling
-
We also consulted on semi-custom window treatments to help frame the room and soften the light. Layered woven shades and drapery panels bring both texture and function.
-
The motorized woven shades are from Select Blinds & Threshold curtain panels from Target.
-
-
Styling included mixing collected objects, organic florals, and personalized touches that make the room feel truly lived in.
The Result
A layered and livable space that feels collected over time - but was purposefully planned to meet this family’s everyday needs. Whether it’s used for movie nights, hosting friends, or weeknight playtime...the East Bay House living room is designed to work beautifully in #reallife.
